This current level of TOF unprofessionalism exceeds previous levels of unprofessionalism, and folks, that is a mighty low bar. Additionally, this so called ‘notice’ may not even be legally binding. There are no official designations anywhere upon it.
This is a governmental office. And as such, is mandated to be open to the public, at specifically designated hours, in order to SERVE the public. Our tax dollars fund this office, and we have a right to expect timely and regular access to it, in order to conduct any and all business we might have with the Town of Fromberg. Our rights to access said office supercede any leave issues a TOF clerk may have. Maternity or not.

Office Hours
7-4-102. Office hours. (1) Unless otherwise provided by law, each officer shall keep the officer’s office open for the transaction of business during the office hours determined by the governing body by resolution after a public hearing and only if consented to by any affected elected county officer each day except Saturdays and legal holidays.
(2) County and city treasurers may, in the interest of the safekeeping of funds, securities, and records under their control, close their offices during the period from noon to 1 p.m. every day.
(3) The governing body of a third-class city or town may establish days and times when municipal offices are open to conduct business.
Hours are posted Monday-Thursday
9-5 and Friday 9-12. In the past, they always posted lunch times 12-1pm. Not that it matters much been there numerous times prior to this with no one there. This is very unprofessional. Messages will be taken to Harlie… So, is she responding to all messages? What phone is she using to respond to them? Should it be a city issued phone, then why is the number not posted, and you eliminate a party running messages? In today’s technology, individuals can access their voicemails without going to the office. Are we paying to have her work from home? They voiced none of this at a meeting. Is this another Clerk and Mayor behind the scenes issuing their agenda? In the past, clerks have received vacations, quit before a replacement was hired, and you were consistently able to access Town Hall. I may be the individual writing, but you should hear the talk… I was at a dinner the other night, and it made me laugh the comments.
