Mayor Shirley Miller’s direct quote regarding the closing date for part-time public works person follows: “Position will close 30 April 2019.” The following 4.25.2019 advertisement in the Carbon County News (which cost $35 alone for this week’s insertion) again specifies: “Apply by April 30, 2019”. Why then, was a person hired at TONIGHT’S TOF 4.24.2019 “SPECIAL MEETING” 7:30 PM? The Agenda (shown below) specifically states: “Part-time PWD interview”. An Interview does not necessarly equate a Hiring. As an EOE, shouldn’t the Town of Fromberg adhere to any and all specifications posted in their help wanted advertisements? At the very least, taxpayer funds were wasted when this position was fully advertised through April 30th while TOF filled the position early. tfa understands there was only one applicant for the position. Perhaps other applications might have been received in the final week of the advertising period. tfa questions why tonight’s Special Meetings were not recorded with the new TOF video camera nor with the usual TOF audio recorder. TOF’s failure to do so could be construed as thwarting the public’s “right to know”. Transparency was the main campaign plank Mayor Shirley Miller and several councilmen ran their elections upon.
Where is the moral outrage in this community? We should ALL be burning up the phone lines to Helena; MT! Are you just go-along-to-get-along folks? Really! This is beginning to remind me of early Nazi Germany, where good people just stood by while increasingly bad things happened…Wake up! Stand up! History is doomed to repeat itself unless YOU take a stand! Make a mark! Or are you just too busy in your trivial personal lives? I excepted better from strong minded, strong willed people in small town America!
Does this not remind you of the special meeting for a council member after Mayor Miller was elected? The one where a illegal vote was taken!! Is the flipping record stuck? We just keep repeating the same bad actions one after the other! Apparently the learning curve at City Hall is intellectually challenged,,,
