Cost of One Insertion? $84.00 (ie: Boxed Classified Advertisement at $14.00 per columnar inch at 2 columns wide by 3 inches deep equals $84.00). 7 weekly insertions at $84.00 equals $588.00. That’s 1.75 MONTHS! And CHARGED no less! Last time TOF advertised for this position in the Carbon County News, they didn’t receive ONE applicant! Fiscally responsible? Obviously not. The above action again shows that no fiscal restraint or common sense is practiced by the current administration in Fromberg! Why not place a general run-of-the-mill “help wanted” ad in The Carbon County News instead? (ie: Standard Classified Advertisement Rate) $10.00 for the first 10 words and .50 cents for each additional word (approximately 77 additional words) equaling $48.50 on a week to week basis? Or why not consider a classified ad in alternative newspapers such as or The Billings Gazette, The Bighorn County News or The Stillwater County News? Again on a week to week basis? Or a display ad in The Billings Times? Or any combination thereof? Why not at least post the advertisement on: http://www.fromberg-mt.com/or: https://www.linkedin.com? Or for that matter at the 3 designated posting locations in Fromberg, Montana?

The burden of recognition and solutions to town government inadequacies falls to the town administration and staff. They choose to ignore performing these solemn duties.

Unfortunately, the comments are not flippant. Many things were done without consultation with atty. This has created lawsuits and put the town’s atty in a no win situation. Point is that we should not even need a new atty if the town had not lied and misrepresented themselves and consulted with atty before doing stupid stuff! Most of the “flippant” comments I’m reading ring totally true. Sorry but I consider your comments as flippant if you have no better suggestions for the problem. This is going to cost the town (us) a great deal in the end and already has, all at the behest of the mayor and coucil.
The point is we shouldn’t have to advertise!!! Bridger and Joliet are not in this same position and they retain the same attorney… It’s impossible to provide legal services when one misrepresents facts and commits questionable actions…. It is not a flippant statement when I say honesty has been lacking at City Hall! I find it outrageous, we the taxpayers, pay for a ad that has the incorrect email…. let alone one that will likely never produce results. I do expect due diligence… I seriously question our clerk’s capabilities, here’s why. I’ve watched several individuals whether at local administrations or schools in places I’ve lived step into the roll of clerk. Some with accounting degrees, some without. But not once, have I ever witnessed one (until the town of Fromberg) take more than six weeks to train… By the way, many of those I mentioned had to go back and fix errors of past administrations. So that excuse does not hold much validity.,,,
