“The 40-acre site”…”several miles east of the town along McCormack Road” is not a definitive legal description. Is the following property the one being considered? The one owned by John E. Carter, who is presumed to the part-time public works employee of the Town of Fromberg, Montana. If so, has the Town of Fromberg publicly disclosed this fact?
Or is it indeed some other vaguely described real property? The onus to produce and PUBLICLY post verifiable details of any such proposal falls directly upon the administration of the TOF. tfa therefore requests TOF immediately put forth the fully descriptive official proposal for a Carbon County Jail in Fromberg’s official Paper of Record; The Carbon County News, Red Lodge, Montana.

once again, morons making fromberg look stupider, if thats possible!!! its 36 acres duh, not 40. it is miles from fromberg water and sewer service. a mile has 5280 linear feet. how much is it gonna cost a linear foot along just to bring the pipeline to the edge of carter’s property? and yep, carter works for the town, nothin to see here folks! and what about that redundant water line. this project will never fly without that. those results will be in soon. the one time free grants from the state with 75 percent chance in this county ALONE that FROMBERG’S NOT IT! CCN reports 20 people showed up to some piss poorly planned meeting. some crackeras* informal ballet going round town says 90 percent of the town approve although the area covered was only 5 percent of the town. so was it the 2 blocks including the miller, nottingham, stapleton and perkins houses? who does this sh*t? what legitimate news source writes an article with this kinda data? come on allistair. you have a journalism degree. this ain’t yellow journalism, its brown journalism and this story as well any stupid plans for a fromberg jail belong in in those new cesspools the mayor cut the ribbon on. fromberg can’t balance a bank statement or pass an audit. they sure as hell could NEVER pull a project like this off.
Wouldn’t a Public Meeting have to be publicly advertised you know like in a newspaper and not just in 3 places around town and put up whenever the clerk said she did a couple days beforehand? And how can you sign some pie in the sky petition for a jail with out showing the specs? That petition would never hold water. Kindergartners could do a better job than the crew at town hall.
The City of Fromberg owns a 39.7 acre parcel off the end of McCormick Road. I would think this is the property they are offering for the project. Whether it has city services in place is another question entirely, and one that I don’t have an answer for.
That being said, one would think the city would get its poop in a group before pursuing such a project.
Nunya. Thanks for the information regarding the 39.7 acre parcel and its location. You are right! A project of this magnitude requires a tremendous amount of research, proper pre-planning and careful administrative oversight. The fact that only a haphazard 48 Hour notice was given to the Public regarding this “WORK SHOP” again indicates Fromberg Town Hall’s persistent unwillingness to do their proper due dilligence.
