Unconscionable is just one word to describe this picture. On June 21st water was turned on prior to 1pm. Water continued to run Thursday June 22nd. Mayor left city hall sometime after 6:00 pm after all city employees had all left for the day. Water continued to run. Friday June 23 when the picture is time stamped water continues to run. Sometime between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm, I’m assuming a conscious citizen turned the water off. Monday June 26 the lot was mowed and the water turned back on where it continued to run till Tuesday June 27 it was turned off only when it started to rain. The majority of us struggle to pay our water bills. It is OUR money that pays for the wells and the pumps, the electricity and the employees wages that run them. There is no excuse for this level of disregard for fiscal responsibility and public property of the town. It’s behavior like this that brings distain toward the town government. Several suggestions to eliminate this from happening again 1.- set the alarm on your smart phone 2- water timer 3- ask a citizen to help out. It’s not rocket science!!! Let alone the damage this continuous water flow is doing to the historic building as well as its updated vintage advertising just east of city hall. This shows utter disregard for individual property rights.

The irony here is that we citizens do struggle to pay our water bills, and we can’t even drink the water!
