Per said article Red Lodge’s fee schedule “water and sewer rates for seasonal housing and vacant lots inside Red Lodge City limits continues on.” is VASTLY different than Fromberg’s rates! Said article is pictured below. Article is also posted on the Front Page of the 11.16.3017 edition of the Carbon County News.
I realize that Frombergs water/sewer rates are considered astronomical to some, these rates were required in order to comply with the grant applications and the RD board. The town had to show that they had ongoing funding to repay that loan. Yes, there were more economical systems presented to the town by the engineers, but those would have be replaced 20 yrs down the road. The system decided upon will last 40 yrs or more.
It isn’t perfect, but the numbers will bear it out.
I do not see a hike in the near future, there ways we can save extra money. We have a lot of work to do and it will be daunting, but necessary to reach our goals. We have some options to do that . I can only hope that the council will have enough vision and hope for Fromberg as I do.
