With the Dawning of a New Year, Let Us Endeavor to…

As evidenced herein, recent Town Of Fromberg Council Meetings have become less than professional. Reasonable requests for substantiated data are often ignored. Common Courtesy is less than common. General Respect for the opinions of others is inconsistent.
It is our hope that the Mayor-Elect, and Council Members will remember their solemn oaths of office. That Town Employees remember they did indeed agree to, and sign off on their job descriptions. That the aforementioned folks understand they serve on behalf of their constituency and not in spite of it.

With the dawning of a new year, let us endeavor to become Better People. To put Principles before Personalities. To Listen Actively. To Reach Out. To take Responsibility and to remain Thankful we live in the Great State of Montana and in the Greatest Country of the World!

  1. Indeed , the newly elected members of the council will absolutely do everything in our power to find answers to any questions. As Mayor I plan to be at Town Hall at least two afternoons a week for several hours. There is a lot to do and we need to get some answers of our own. I am sure that will require a lot of research in current and old documents, that haven’t been looked at for years. There will be monthly meetings with city employees and accountability from all. The council and Mayor should be and should have been accountable to the taxpayers all along.
We are and will be part of this community and be active in it. We are normal citizens that have the privilege to serve this community. If we screw up, I am positive we will be reminded in loud voices that we did.
There is a list a mile long that contains many questions asked and few answered, we will endeavor to find those answers. My only concern is, will we accomplish all that we want to do in a few short years… I believe we will meet a lot of those goals.

  2. We are already encountering tugs of resistance and planning on how to throw a monkey wrench into the gears. Instead of doing everything you can to better the working relationship with the town officials, why not try to build a workable and cohesive solution that will not only be a benefit to the employees, but to the community itself.
My hope and goal is to build that relationship and trust and I sincerely believe that with intelligent conversation and mutual and reasonable solutions, we can reach those goals.

    • True communication, a meeting of the minds if you will, is only possible if both parties have the capacity to be honest. Each side must be willing and able to listen and sincerely desire change. If these qualities aren’t present, there can be no true change. And old behaviors of manipulation and jockeying for position will continue. Beware of smoke and mirrors, they’re just more of the same.

  3. Yes, communication is key. We have all signed on to do the best job we can. Hopefully, we will all be able to rid ourselves of distractions and work for the people of the community, without ” manipulation or jockeying for position”. This sort of behavior not only hinders the wishes of the voters, but ends up working against the people who using these tactics. It reflects badly on the town. Attitudes and habits need to be changed. That applies to all of us.
