During the clerk’s report in the you.tube video of the meeting, she informs council on how Bert Kraft is working on a new website…After listening to the last couple of these meetings on you.tube, I notice no bids were ever requested nor no discussion whatsoever regarding a new website…. Nor did I notice, the Council didn’t vote to hire Mr Kraft for this project… Please inform me if I’ve missed something. While I’m sure Mr. Kraft is very computer savvy, we are a city entity and therefore must follow proper protocol… Although if you live in Fromberg and have a Mayor like ours there’s NO SUCH THING!!! Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just have Mr. Kraft trouble shoot our existing website? You know, the one tied in with all town council and employees emails? The one we’ve had for over 10 years? Why recreate the wheel?
What a joke! Like our Mayor actually called in a full fledged IT company… The mayor took it upon herself to outsource the job to someone locally. We have no idea of his qualifications. A computer geek is not IT. I’m not slamming computer geeks, they serve a purpose and are generally very proficient. However, banks, hospitals, corporate facility’s and yes, cities and towns, due to the sensitivity of their information, generally utilize accredited IT providers. IT providers facilitate the entire scope of computer usage, which in this day and age is huge. Security procedures regarding data collection and retention of public information should be stringent. I doubt City Hall’s computer systems and guidelines for their use would pass muster. Small IT companies contract out to schools and smaller businesses that don’t need an IT person on staff 40 hours a week. Just the latest farce out of city hall!
Proof our Mayor is incompetent at her job! Thirteen months of no results! Even if there is a website next week which is highly doubtful. If Tommy had his book report done but he didn’t turn it in until thirteen months later he would receive a F. Even if it was a literary masterpiece. This is mind blowing. How stupid can one person be? But we’re talking about our Mayor and she brings stupidity to a new level!!
