So you’re telling me just cuz perkins used to own the whole block he’s entitled to a vacated alley? What a stupid argument for the Mayor to make.
how can this clerk chick have any vacation or sick time to use to go to a wedding? she’s missed soooo much time already. and she’s soooo busy. shouldn’t she just stay home and work? how often has town hall been closed with or without notice since she’s been clerk. that NEVER happened with Brenda! who’s in charge of payroll? this clerk? timesheets? this clerk? is there no accountability or common sense at town hall? and you wonder why the council overspent the budget to the tune of 77K? pathetic.
We overspent last budget year so KLS urged a tightening of fiscal belts so to speak. That advice has been apparently been thrown out the window! Now we’re talking 3 special meetings! Ludicrous! And simply because 2 people didn’t do their homework! I’m talking about the Election Resolution. If the mayor and clerk had actually done their homework; actually had their facts in hand, we would not be looking at a special meeting to deal with this in the first place! Although I find it even more insane that mail-in ballots are a problem for a certain council member. And that very same party would take issue with video recordings and minutes in draft form offered to the public. When representing the rights of citizens, you don’t get to pick and choose! Our constitution affords us those rights as well as Montana state law! Council members jobs and oaths require them to protect these rights first and foremost! Mail-In ballots don’t infringe on any rights, otherwise this issue would have already been set before the Supreme Court! Mail-In ballots are a cost saving measure! This same party would trample on Fromberg citizen’s Right to Know when it comes to information coming out (or not) of City Hall. It’s ludicrous that it was never a problem until you became a council member and Shirley Miller became Mayor! This is now an issue… For those of you who are not aware; or never paid attention, perhaps you should at least educate yourself! Prior to our current clerk, Brenda always made sure minutes were typed and placed in the window for the public to view with in a few days after the meeting. FYI Ralph Dawson did not type the minutes, nor did Mike Ventling. When asked for a copy Brenda informed the public that they were unapproved minutes. Minutes were then placed in the window to view 24/7. Ralph Dawson did however produce audio copies from the tape recording on compact disc for the town and also for the public to purchase. When Ralph left, Mike made the copies. To be fair I do believe Ralph and Mike both tried on Brenda’s computer in order to teach her, but neither party could upload it to copy. Mayor Anderson was the party that kept the old webpage updated with ordinances, monthly minutes, and informative materials. Something our current Mayor apparently isn’t capable of doing! And Oh My My, to those who publicly point fingers at former employees, it might pay to get off your high horses, Christman and Miller. Because it’s apparent you didn’t come prepared for the job…Nor is it your right to publicly name a private citizen, who isn’t even there, by saying they can produce the copies? And the town attorney idly sits by. I hope you’re pockets are deep. The biggest problem? The purchase of a camcorder with all its accessories, made with public funds and all the hoopla made at several council meetings on how this was ALL going on the town latest web page! And then with clerk’s new computer, along with all the expensive software purchased, you, the Mayor, Council and Clerk have no informed ideas as to whether or not this was workable or even feasible! So, hundreds of dollars later, none of us have access to the digital information you promised 6 months ago? When you could have saved the town both time and money by simply continuing to use the same tape recorder and CD disc copy system! All at tax payers expense… Obviously, you can’t even compete with a volunteer organization but only disparage it? I will give Anderson credit. He didn’t hide information! Miller, however can’t dig fast enough to cover up stuff!
How can anyone on the Council possibly think they have done us citizens any favors? You would have to be mentally brain dead if you think we’ve received any bang for dollars! Before the audit they were looking to locate 80,000 dollars. Well that money has been located all but four thousand dollars. This is supposed to make us feel all warm and fuzzy! Wrong! Now the kicker! They overspent seventy seven thousand dollars just last year! These yo-yos feel they’ve earned the right to a special pass because there’s a learning curve! Really! Run a company that commits errors like this and see what happens! The shareholders would be outraged!
Pays to be informed! You forgot to mention Brenda did not receive ten additional months of on the job training in addition to attending clerk’s school, in addition to hours upon hours of paid help from Kristen Sweet! I’d say that is like comparing night and day. It’s apparent from statements made at previous meetings that the Mayor has been fully aware of problems in the administrative office but choose not act. Now Miller’s trying to use it as a ploy. Sure would be nice if the mayor didn’t were diapers and grabbed a set of big girl panties! I’m sure her excuse is a former employee forgot to wash them for her.
