What are the TOTAL potential disclosed and undisclosed costs of said grant applications process?
1. $10,000: Initial Grant Application/Preparation Fee.
2. $264.60 “LEGAL NOTICE” cost: $14.70 per column inch (9 inches) for EACH insertion in the Carbon County News ie September 12 and September 19, 2019
3. Any additional “Matching Contributions” that TOF may be required to make in order to receive any such grant monies.
4. Any other potential additional costs.
These factors need to be thoroughly researched, disclosed and discussed BEFORE any such financial commitments are made. TRANSPARENCY MATTERS!
Can anybody say “money spending morons”? Wuldnt be so bad but its OUR tax dollars. do the math…$500,000 grant let’s say town match is 10%. 50 grand a year coming from who knows where not just to service the debt…and lets just say 250 frimberg water users is…how many $$$ increase??? exactly! plus the 10K grant fee. Wake up! p*ss poor planning by mayor n Council shouldn’t cost US more. Do some pre-planning instead of running by the seat o yo panties…
I have a question. If you were the party to purpose this grant endeavor would you not have done your homework? Would you not have taken into consideration if this was a grant at a 50% return? How much would a $225,000 financial effect impact us all as a community? Would you not have had financial figures available so that town water users could see what potential additional charges they might have to pay for this project? Would one not think to ask these questions and have this financial information, BEFORE spending the $10,000 for grant preparation? The total amount of the overspent budget for the past two years could have been saved and used to put a large dent in this project! Lord knows, fiscal responsibility should be a duty of all that serve on the Council! In light of recent events, our chances of fiscal responsibility coming out of Town Hall have shown us we’re more likely of being hit by a cosmic asteroid while being invaded by purple people eaters!
