Why is TOF so hesitant to “livestream” their meetings, or at the very least post them to http://www.fromberg-mt.com/Video, as was their duly recorded original intent? TOF specifically purchased a video camera, reworked the Town’s official website: http://www.fromberg-mt.com/Video in order to accommodate just such recordings, as well as specifically training the town clerk in the “upload” process. To not follow through is a waste taxpayer dollars. TOF’s fiduciary commitment is to us, The Taxpayer! Why is this administration so opposed to Transparency? What is it they have to hide?
Well that’s a bummer dude. This is bout the only place po dunk Joe’s like us can get any information about town hall.
We here at tfa feel your pain. Our position is that the Town of Fromberg bears the burden to provide the video recordings made by the town clerk as TAXPAYERS paid for the video camera, video memory cards,revamping http://www.fromberg-mt.gov to accommodate video posting as well as time training the clerk to do so. Please, stop by Fromberg Town Hall and request a draft copy of last night’s meeting minutes. It is a right guaranteed to you by both the United State’s and State of Montana’ Constitution!
Remember earlier this year, I believe it was our March meeting? There was much to-do about obtaining a camcorder for City Hall and how we could then watch meetings on the Citt’s web page. Exactly how much of our tax dollars was spent on that? Only to receive nothing that was promised to us citizens, all because the process is TOO complicated for our clerk. Mayor and clerk of course only figured this out AFTER the fact! This just goes to show there’s allota talk about “what one knows” but not much action, as very little is actually known. Miller and council had the city web page redone to keep citizens informed, yet nothing has been posted since last April! Meanwhile minutes from Mayor Miller’s ENTIRE two year term have never been posted! They’re never even posted at City Hall like the previous clerk did for over eight years! What we citizens actually received for our tax dollars is a web page that is non-secure, agendas for 2 meetings and some proposed ordinances at a cost of HOW MANY DOLLARS? How much time has been expended on this entire fiasco that we, the citizens, paid for? I would love to know! The thought that City Hall keeps us informed is ludicrous and distorted! I believe, we as taxpayers, have paid alot to receive nothing other than sagging lip service from 2 incompetent nit-wits whose only qualifications are to throw our tax dollars down the drain with their self righteous stupidity!
Has clerky dirkey posted the notice for Monday the 16th meeting yet? Shes only known about it for over a week. Poor baby. Her job us so hard…waaaaah
It is sad that all the lip service, lies, bad decisions, lack of transparency and refusal to make what goes on at city hall readily available to the town’s people leaves little choice but to take legal action that few can afford. Thus fromberg town hall continue on. Would like to thank tfa for this site of factual documentation on what transpires at city hall. Too bad the town can’t, or wont provide us with this information. It is fact that the council has final say and has let the mayor run slip shod over them resulting in lawsuits, missing money, ridiculous utility bills, and extravagant spending to no end result. I would recommend that ANY dealings one has at city hall be documented in writing or recording or a whitness because they WILL lie to you and then they will deny it.
Thanks for the atta boy Scott Advocate! tfa has been fighting the good fight for over 2.5 years. And you’re right! Town Hall has fought us and continues to fight us in each any every way. Transparency is not Fromberg Town Hall’s watch word! It defies description that noone at the county or state level has yet stepped up to prosecute the Town of Fromberg for its SEVERAL MAJOR infractions!
