Watched the YouTube video and was rolling on the floor with laughter! Apparently, the only one in the room smart enough to understand a governmental budget is the Mayor and the Clerk. Will you all be serving Kool-Aid at the next meeting?
Had the lady in the audience not spoken up, council would have just thrown caution to the wind and immediately gone forwarding passed this budget! Why should the council value the public’s opinion? Council’s job is to represent those people. Here’s a question: How many of you on the council have randomly walked up and introduced yourself to someone in the community and asked as a Councilman: ‘how Fromberg could better serve them’? Asking ‘how is City Hall at fulfilling your needs’? When you act like you’re there to serve and listen, the dynamics change. I would venture to guess no councilmen have done that. What if council took the time to say ‘hey I’m interested in your input, maybe you could expand on that before the next meeting by calling me’? I bet if us townsfolk called certain council members with any recommendations, instead of listening to our comments the conversation would turn into an argument or a debate. Call a Senator’s office and see if they ask: ‘Did you vote’? or What would you do’? That simply doesn’t happen! Remember, meeting tone is set by town Mayor. When she gives false information, tells individuals they don’t know anything and lies more proficiently than Tricky Dick, you’re going to get a volatile situation. I’m sure this site could fact-check the Mayor and catch her in over five blatant lies during this meeting. You know 5 Pinocchios.
Was it not back in May on YouTube the Mayor was asked if they were going to meet their 14% reserve in the administration budget? The Mayor’s response was catty with we run always above 20%. Then you look at the purposed allocation, and the projected profit loss of 54% not a gain of 20%. Fiscally Responsible???
