A Regular Town Council Meeting was held October 20, 2020 7:30PM (see tfa’s post dated 10.21.2020 at the following link): http://the-fromberg-advocacy.com/tof-10-20-2020-council-meeting-part-3/ https://youtu.be/0laz9ghsVYQ
During the Public Comment segment of this meeting, a gentleman from the audience specifically asked when the next Budget Hearing Meeting would be held. President of the Council Tim Nottingham stated further Budget Hearing Meeting information would be posted at a later date. Minute 8, Second 29 at the following YouTube link shows that entire exchange: https://youtu.be/0laz9ghsVYQ . With regard to the following deadline (photo below), the Clerk would have had to have known the scheduling of such a meeting in order to place the following Legal Notice no later than Tuesday at 10AM, October 20, 2020 for inclusion in the the upcoming issue of the County News. Why didn’t the Clerk simultaneously post the same notice at TOF’S three designated posting areas that Tuesday? Why didn’t the Clerk publicly state that evening that the Final Meeting Hearing to Approve the Budget was scheduled for: October 30, 2020?

I find it deceitful that Mr. Nottingham and Clerk Jann Christman were asked during public comment at the October 20th meeting when the next budget meeting date was to be set. The answer the audience received was ‘we’ll let you know and post it’ . Here’s where the deceit comes into play. In order to place an ad or an editorial in Carbon County News one knows the deadline is Tuesday. Funny. That’s the same day of the Ocotober 20th meeting, yet Council doesn’t know when the next budget meeting will be held? No transparency. Shafted by City Hall again, and they just continue to lie to the public. If you wonder why there are fractures in the community, its actions like these that fuel those fractures.
Well, when you read the specifics this legal advertisement, then go back and watch the YouTube video from the budget meeting, I would say that’s false advertising! For those individuals who voiced their opinions that night, they were treated with hostility specifically by the Mayor. This council has forgotten they are here to serve us, but it’s pretty apparent they have their agendas and it’s not us nor our tax dollars! It’s unmistakable when certain individuals in the audience speak and the Council has the attitude that screams ‘DROP DEAD’! Thank the Lord and pass the potatoes that these council meetings are videoed and place up on You.Tube. Otherwise, we the taxpayers, wouldn’t have a fighting chance. With videos, we can step up and question Mayor and Council’s actions. And as you can see, they certainly don’t appreciate the public’s right to know and to participate. So keep up the questions. This is our Town. Our government. We elect them and their sworn duty is to represent us, not there tunnel vision agendas! I’m tired of being patted on the head, told to shoosh, while they carry on with their budget insanity.
The newspaper ad alludes to the idea that council will resolve any questions regarding the budget. Hell they didn’t respond to questions at the last meeting! They have unrealistic expectations and no forethought as to how they are going to raise the funds needed to cover these horrendous expenditures. It’s on the YouTube video where a gentleman is asking ‘do you at that table have a plan other than bankrupting the Town’? Stapleton’s response is ‘what are your ideas’? Does that sound like this Council is qualified to respond any serious questions? Another individual from the audience has to point out a net loss of 56 cents on the dollar in the reserves. If that doesn’t scare you, then we’re all in trouble. The Council’s only resolve is to increase the table of fees. A table of fees does not begin to cover huge spending increases like these. And they’re giving the Clerk a $2.50 an hour raise? Its all a smoke and mirror show where taxpayers pay for Mayor Shirley Miller and Town Council’s ineptitude! The Town of Fromberg can’t afford this budget!
I love the part on YouTube where Stapleton says “there must be a glitch in the software, that’s why theses numbers won’t work”. Just all too funny! Look at the paper in question! This was definitely an operational error by the Clerk, as well as many more! This party is obviously in over her head and bookkeeping is not her strong suite. I have a friend in financial advisement. I presented her with that budget page and asked would you consider this as a solid budget? Their response. “Do they have money elsewhere and a lot of it? Otherwise, this isn’t workable”! There you have it folks!
