If Mayor Miller had the best interest of the Town her notice would have been posted immediately after she tendered her resignation. The same as any employer who receives termination notice from an employee. They immediately begin the process of filling said said position by promptly advertising for it. The employee continues to work till the end date of their resignation. But the employer has made adequate provisions to ensure a smooth and timely transition! It’s called being responsible to your constituents! Its called NOT BEING A CAN KICKER! Its called living up to your position! Its called leadership! And it requires wearing big girl or big boy panties, whatever the case may be. Anything less is unacceptable@##$!
I remember a city maintenance man choosing to no longer take Mayor Miller’s bull. He gave notice, and yet, Miller repeatedly accused that man of throwing the Town under the bus. Here’s the deal. That party improved himself by leaving. In business, as a supervisoe, you should expect and want that for your employees. Instead Miller expected this individual to hold himself back for her benefit. Miller could have been open and upfront with her resignation! Instead, she ordered her resignation and all the information within it be withheld until the last possible moment… Who really threw the Town under the bus? And word about town is that the president of the council, Tim Nottingham knew of Miller’s resignation at least a month in advance? And he is campaigning for mayor? He sure won’t get my vote. He was a poor council person, and a poor council prez. He’s had 5 years to prove his mettle…and yep you guessed it! He’s a poor ineffective choice!!
