We Hope So Too…

tfa heartily concurs with Terri Durbin’s sentiments in the following article sourced from today’s issue of the Carbon County News, and has the very same hopes for the Town of Fromberg.

Here’s Hoping. During the last Red Lodge budget cycle, the mayor and the admin and finance committee showed marked indifference toward publicly expressed concerns about the lack of transparency in, lack of supporting data for, and pointed questions concerning the city budget process even as they bemoaned the lack of public involvement. To me, this shows a lack of “intellectual curiosity” (a specific and well-researched subject in cognitive science) which I find baffling given the importance of this issue to the public. I stand by my statement made at the last city council meeting.

In the future, I expect the Carbon County News to report the news accurately and to present the facts in context and free of the manufactured drama that has unfortunately become the norm at our council meetings. I encourage the general public to become educated on city and county issues in 2024 and to insist that local media report the facts thoroughly and in context. Let us embrace lively debate on topics that concern us, not shut people down.

I am hopeful in 2024, with new leadership and temperament, that the city will embrace fact-based debates between city officials and the public. I’m also hopeful that relations will improve between the City of Red Lodge and the rest of the Carbon County community.
