Carbon County commissioner accused of taking county equipment and lending it to a friend

An investigation found that a Carbon County commissioner took county equipment for his own use and for a friend’s business, according to charges filed in April. Douglas Dean Tucker, 51, was charged with felony theft after he allegedly misled detectives on the use of about $9,000 worth of equipment. The case was investigated by Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office detectives and will be prosecuted by Deputy Yellowstone County Attorney 23Christopher Morris. Tucker is accused of taking trencher and roller attachments for skid steers. Tucker acquired the equipment in 2012 for the county as part of a deal with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.
Prosecutors say throughout the second half of 2016, Tucker brought the trencher and roller attachments to his neighbor, Jason Stene, who runs JNR Excavating out of Joliet. When questioned by detectives, Tucker initially said the attachments didn’t work on the county skid steer, so he brought them to Stene to test on his skid steer, court documents state”. https://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/carbon-county-commissioner-accused-of-taking-county-equipment-and-lending-it-to-a-friend/article_4c696004-ff18-5311-9f34-1d78d336c875.html

  1. Well, if the shoe fits.
If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck and smells like a duck it’s probably a duck.
    Follow the money.
    JUST DO SOMETHING!

  2. The Mayor, called ‘F UP”, considers it appropriate for employees to rent out town equipment for personal business endeavors without getting input from the council. I am curious if the town possesses the financial means to offer support to every business seeking assistance following our help to these individuals tomorrow. Does the town have the financial resources to deal with a discrimination lawsuit? F UP might want to think about whether he has the financial resources since this is his choice. As a citizen I want the financial help these two received

    • Right on! Count me in. I need some money from the public teat too! Imagine what other money is bein used for faulty purposes. We need an audit. Gee maybe if timmy and his boy weren’t p*ssing away OUR money our water rates wouldn’t go up. Who paid for the gas that went in the cop car for some employee to drive back and forth to Laure. Timmy says it on the video tape. If Tucker had to go so does Timmy and maybe the Public work guy too.

  3. 😂😂😂 Why is anyone surprised it’s Tim! He can’t keep a wife. Let’s see is it three or four now? A couple were related. It’s like watching a bad movie.

  4. I doubt Tim has the financial resources to hire the attorney Mr. Tucker did. Although I guess the Mormon Church could decide to cover his lying butt. That would be there financial loss.
